International Inbound Telecom Fraud Detection

International Inbound Telecom Fraud Detection

Overview

The international inbound telecom fraud detection system is designed to prevent unauthorized VoIP calls originating from overseas and terminating in Vietnam, safeguarding the revenue and reputation of telecom operators. The system employs simbox devices located in various countries to make VoIP calls to Android devices placed in Vietnam. Suspicious phone numbers are automatically detected through analysis of calling frequency and other unusual patterns.

Once an unauthorized number is identified, the system sends alert notifications and detailed call reports to telecom operators, enabling them to swiftly make decisions to block the number and prevent fraudulent calls. With real-time monitoring and fast response capabilities, the system significantly reduces international telecom fraud, protecting revenue streams and improving the quality of telecommunications services. This solution has been widely deployed, demonstrating high effectiveness in detecting and preventing unauthorized VoIP calls, ensuring the security and stability of the national telecommunications infrastructure.

Functional Modules:

  • Trixbox PBX Integration Module: Connects to the Trixbox PBX system to automatically schedule VoIP calls from international locations to Vietnam, supporting monitoring and evaluation of suspicious calls.
  • Simbox Management Module: Monitors the status of simbox devices located abroad, including call performance and connection status, to ensure stable system operations.
  • SIM Management Module: Manages the status and information of SIMs in the system, such as balance, activity status, and usage history, supporting effective allocation.
  • SIM Top-Up Module: Automatically tops up SIMs in the system to maintain continuous call operations and prevent disruptions due to insufficient balance.
  • Fraud Call Reporting Module: Generates detailed reports on the number, time, and frequency of fraudulent calls, supporting effective monitoring and prevention.
  • Telecom Operator Integration Module: Sends commands to telecom operators’ systems to block unauthorized numbers and stop fraudulent VoIP calls promptly, minimizing risks.
  • Phone Number Capture Software on Android: Installed on Android devices in Vietnam to automatically capture and report suspicious phone numbers calling from simbox devices.

Resources and Timeline

The system's main technical challenge is the integration of Trixbox PBX and simbox devices, which demands engineers with expertise in optimizing the Trixbox core to handle a high volume of concurrent calls effectively.
